I was sitting in on an introductory, in-person live, seminar given by a fairly large and reputable company
last week. It seemed that every time they had an opportunity to blast their primary competitor – they did so – and it left a really bad taste in the attendees collective mouths. This was amplified during the Q&A session afterwards when someone in the audience (probably a set-up), asked them why they were so much better than their competition. The answer focused on all the alleged deficiencies of the competition – rather than the comparative strengths of their own solution. I felt that upon leaving the event after two hours that I had a better feel for their competitors’ product than that of the hosts. It was just bad.
